Would you pay for your news online?

If you came upon a news source that you were interested in but it cost a certain amount, either a flat fee per year or a monthly fee, to access the entirety of the site’s content, would you pay for it?

  1. willschiff answered: I’d only really consider it if it were something comparable to the NYT. Their reader is worth paying for already.
  2. oliviarandomlife answered: Uhhhh not until free news sites all died.
  3. monsieurledan answered: Yes. But actually, I prefer news for free and to pay for white papers.
  4. sliu answered: I’m an international relations major. I NEED the news. So yes. As long as it was a reasonable amount (and cheaper than a paper subscription)
  5. adamwhite answered: No. I want a free diversity of opinion and sources. I wouldn’t want to feel obliged to read primarily from one source that I’m paying for.
  6. peroty answered: I don’t read the news now, so I sure wouldn’t pay for it.
  7. singulus answered: No.
  8. megjersey answered: No, not online because the site can delete it and then you lose access to older articles that you would’ve had the choice to keep with print.
  9. thekeri answered: i would and i have.
  10. ipen answered: Ha! Not a chance.
  11. pocketfulofposey answered: If it was, say $15 every three months, I would.
  12. fickjamori answered: no. im cheep.
  13. alexheath answered: absolutely not
  14. jakec answered: No. Not yet, anyway.
