Un-restricting my blog
I wrote a week or two ago that I wanted to restrict my blog to three topics, journalism, technology and sports. After doing that for a little while and realizing that it takes half of the fun out of my blog and inserts a hell of a lot of work in place, I think I’ll go back to the free-form, do whatever I want with my website blog that I’ve had for the past year and a half.
I have a special audience with this blog, just like any blog, and my audience has been built around the theme of my website. If I wanted a journalism, technology and sports audience I should start a blog with that intention and build that audience from the ground up.
Audiences are useless if they’re not the right kind of audience. Having 15,000 Twitter followers doesn’t mean a thing if they aren’t interacting or participating in the online conversation.
So no restrictions here. I’ll post what I want and have some fun. I like it, my followers like it.
Thanks for supporting this blog over the past year and a half. It means a lot to have such a great audience, such great fans, such great friends on Tumblr.
