RTD Mobile Bus Times 1.1

I’ve been working hard over the past few weeks on RTD Mobile Bus Times 1.1, which I hope to submit to Apple before Halloween.

Let me start by saying thank you very much to those who have bought and supported the application so far. The response has been fantastic and I hope to maintain that as I improve RTD Mobile Bus Times into the future.

The 1.1 update is a vast improvement over the 1.0 version in terms of performance and the information available for users. 1.0 launched with two buses, 1.1 will launch with over 10 including the major Boulder local buses and the most-used Denver local buses.

The two buses that came bundled in the 1.0 release of RTD Mobile Bus Times were two of the most important buses for students at the University of Colorado (like myself) but now it’s time to expand that to buses that people use much more frequently.

Buses included in the 1.1 release are:

  • AB
  • B/BF/BX
  • Bound
  • Dash
  • Jump
  • Skip
  • Stampede
  • The Buff Bus
  • 203
  • 209
  • Denver local buses are being finalized but there will be at least 5 if not more

Probably the most important part of the 1.1 release is the inclusion of The Buff Bus. This application started as a project to target the needs of CU students and if there’s one bus that students need on the app it’s The Buff Bus. I’m currently working on a great way to incorporate Buff Bus times into the application. There will be maps available as well for unfamiliar riders.

Since the release of 1.0 in early September I’ve gotten a lot of great user feedback which is going directly back into the application. I hope to release updates at the end of every month, if not sooner, with more buses and creative solutions for getting those bus schedules in your pocket! One feature coming in the future will be a Favorites option to select the buses you use most, to move them to the top of the route list for easy access. As for other improvements, you’ll just have to wait and see.

RTD Mobile Bus Times 1.0 is available now for $.99 until the release of 1.1 when the price will go back up to $1.99. If you’ve already bought 1.0, updates will always be free. [iTunes link]
