A good developer is hard to find

I started my search today for a business partner, a technical partner and hopefully a friend.

I’ve had this desire for as long as I can remember to create applications, websites, services, what have you, and over the years I’ve learned that just like everyone else my brain is specifically wired for tasks more so than others. Programming isn’t my strong suit and it never will be. I’ve tried and I’ve taken classes but my brain simply stated just isn’t wired for programming.

Until last week I felt like that was a hinderance and the more I think about it, it’s not. I have ideas and visions for products, I just need a partner to help me realize those.

The search began in a computer science class today as I pitched my desire for a programming partner to the dozen or so students in the class. Two seemed to be interested, one of those interested said he had friends who may be interested. Craigslist ads went up as well as an ad on Get Apps Done.

I’m hoping I find a developer by the end of the year. I’m hoping that developer is around in a year, or maybe two. As important as it is to find a business partner for all of my ideas, I’d love to find a friend to work on them with too.
