NBA Rejects Allen Iverson’s Retirement Request, Makes Him Stay In No-Interest Purgatory

sportsattire:

The National Basketball Association has rejected a request from all-star guard Allen Iverson that would allow Iverson to enter retirement. Iverson recently parted with the Memphis Grizzlies, nullifying his one-year deal in Memphis.

Iverson, 34, will now be stuck in an emotionally draining atmosphere where he must watch ESPN continuously as they talk about each team in the NBA and specifically why each team doesn’t see itself as good fits for the aging guard.

Iverson has expressed that he only wants to play for a team with a decent shot at an NBA championship ring and a team where he can play a pivotal starting role.

Los Angeles, Cleveland, Boston, Denver and San Antonio have not been in touch with Iverson. Spokesmen for each team have told Sportsattire sources that they have strategically blocked all incoming forms of communication that Iverson may be utilizing.

NBA league sources have commented that they feel that Iverson should practice a bit more before he attempts to contact other teams.

“He’s rusty,” league sources said Wednesday, “He needs to get back into practice before he can play in any games.”

Iverson was formerly with Philadelphia, Denver and Detroit before his short-lived tenure in Memphis.
