After reading the article about Muxtape and seeing that their legal battle may cost them over a million dollars just in legal fees (which they apparently do not have), I have realize that it may be time to let it go.
Muxtape going under is heartbreaking. I’ll admit I never used the service that much to make my own but I used it once and a while to discover new music. That’s where I found The National, Starflyer 59, and MGMT, all bands that I listen to a lot now. It’s a shame that the RIAA chooses to shut down innovative thinking on the Internet just because artists aren’t making pennies for users playing their songs.
