Tweetie: The perfect desktop client for the A.D.D.?

Since jumping off of Tweetdeck and onto Tweetie one thing has become apparent. I get more done. No more refresh button to taunt me and say, “Hey Zack, maybe new Tweets came in. What the hell, refresh me.” No more notifications telling me that my saved searches have updated with new results or that I got a new direct message which I have to check because I have no self control.

The updates will have to wait (roughly) five minutes for Tweetie to auto-refresh which means that I’ve got t-minus five mines to get an increment of work done before something blue lights up somewhere on the left side of my desktop.

And sure you can turn off the notifications in Tweetdeck and, you know, turn it off for a bit but that’s no fun.

What I’m trying to get at here is that Tweetie for Macs is the desktop client to have if you have to compulsively check your desktop Twitter client every time you know it updated. The five minute intervals between updates are perfect when paired with the lack of notifications or alert sounds.

I think I’ll stick with this one for a while.
