Why I’m sticking with Tumblr

A few people who know that I host my blogs on Tumblr have asked me whether I’m going to stay on the platform or port all of my blogs somewhere else since DowntimeGate (too soon?)

I’m here to say, unequivocally, that I’m staying on Tumblr. 24-26 hours of downtime compared to the 2+ years that Tumblr has been reliable to me and my blogs is a drop in a bucket. I could care less.

Sure, the staff could have done a better job of keeping their users informed about the downtime while they feverishly worked to straighten things out. We make mistakes. They’ll address downtime better the next time.

I love Tumblr and I have since I started using it. I’ll go down with the ship. Find me a better service and I might switch. But probably not.
