It plays ambient music and displays peaceful background images while you write in a floating, customizable text box. Brilliant. (via TUAW) I’ve been using Ommwriter over Pages the past few days and the one thing I really love about it are the aesthetics. I know I can put Pages into full screen mode; I could download WriteRoom too. I’d prefer Ommwriter’s snowy landscape and the soothing ambient sounds that are built right into the app. I can’t write usually when I’m listening to music with some kind of lyrics because I wind up listening instead of writing. Ommwriter is the perfect balance of visuals and audio for me to really get stuff done. I’m going to play with it a little more before I commit to it 100 percent over Pages but for now it’s my favorite word processor on my MacBook.
